Monday Update

Posted by: Aaron Wade   in Announcements, Blog Post

Thanks so much for all of you who got in your paperwork and deposits last night for our Spring Trip.  We had a tremendous response!  Our leadership teams are currently working through all the applications and will determine the final trip team list as soon as we can.

Also, big thanks for everyone for all the extra effort at last night’s rehearsal with the big choir and orchestra and the children’s choir.  I know logistics were crazy, but you guys did a great job, and I appreciate your attention and faithfulness.

I need to give you a couple of updates:

  1. We will NOT be singing in big church this Sunday.  We had considered it, but eventually decided the timing was not right.
  2. We WILL be singing Sunday morning December 7th.  That’s the Sunday at the end of our production run.  Call time will be determined later, and we’ll be in production costume attire.
  3. We talked about this in rehearsal last week, but just to reiterate: PLEASE don’t wait to get your production attire together.  Everyone’s wearing all black, long sleeves, floor/ankle length, black socks/hosiery, black shoes.  Guys’ shirts need to be button-down.  We’ll be providing pearls for girls and ties for guys.
  4. Solo/featured vocalist/ensemble auditions will be held Sunday, December 14 before our normal rehearsal.  Signups will be here on the site starting next week, but if you’re interested you may want to mark the date.

Spring Trip Paperwork - Due Sunday!

Posted by: Aaron Wade   in Podcast Episode

Please remember, all paperwork and deposit money is due this Sunday evening.  This week FUSION is rehearsing with the Celebration Choir & Orchestra and Expedition Praize in the Worship Center from 4-6pm.  Starting at 5:30pm, parents may come to the Welcome Center (located just inside the West Entrance to the Worship Center building) to ask questions and/or turn in paperwork.  We will have trip leaders on hand to help process paperwork.  A notary will also be available to endorse the liability forms.

If you are having trouble with which forms to complete or are missing some or all of your paperwork, hopefully this will help:

First Timers Need:

Deposit Form (BLUE)

Application (with Testimony attached)

Friend/Co-worker Reference Form

Pastor/Christian Leader Reference Form

Emergency Contact Form

Trip Medical Questionnaire

Permission for Minor to Travel

Authorization & Medical Consent for Minors

Release of Liability (MINOR) *must be notarized

If you’ve been on a MISSIONS DEPARTMENT trip in the past two years (Student Ministry Mission Tours do not count, but last year’s FUSION trip and previous overseas Senior Trips do) you need:

Deposit Form (BLUE)

Emergency Contact Form

Trip Medical Questionnaire

Permission for Minor to Travel

Authorization & Medical Consent for Minors

Release of Liability (MINOR) *must be notarized

Revelation Song on Sunday Morning, November 16

Posted by: Aaron Wade   in Announcements

Call time will be 8am in the Worship Center.  We will need to be very flexible, as there is a lot going on that morning.

Dress is modest Sunday morning attire.  We’re going to look NICE.  This means:

  • Girls: long skirt or pants; NOTHING above the knees; no open backs; no spaghetti straps
  • Guys: wear a shirt with a collar and good pants; no jeans; no flipflops

We will explain the logistics Sunday morning when you get there, but know that you will be able to attend service and Sunday School like normal.

Spring Trip Student/Parent Meeting - November 2

Posted by: Aaron Wade   in Announcements

Hopefully you’ve heard by now we’re going back to Las Vegas, NV for our Spring Break mission opportunity this year!  This is a very exciting time, but we have to move quickly to get everything in place by March.  There is a mandatory student/parent meeting this Sunday, November 2 in the Choir Room from 3:30-4:30.  Presenting the information and leading the meeting will be LuAnne Wade (trip leader), Debbie Stephens (FBC Missions Mobilization Assistant), and Aaron Wade (director).  Students and parents will receive relevant information concerning the trip and have the opportunity to ask questions and begin signups and paperwork.

If you have any interest in serving with FUSION this spring, please make plans to attend Sunday’s meeting.  There’s no obligation, and it’s the best way to find out what this trip is all about.  Please let us know if you have any questions!  We look forward to seeing you all Sunday!

Set Has Been Decided!

Posted by: Aaron Wade   in Announcements, Blog Post

We finally did it. I gathered my closest consultants and we locked ourselves into a room until we had totally determined the songs and song order for this year’s rock show. Listening CDs are being produced as we speak, and you can get them at rehearsal on Sunday.

What to expect? You’ll obviously see the stuff we’ve been working on (You’re On Fire, Fully Alive, etc), as well as stuff we’d already decided but not started on yet (Whispers, etc). You’ll also see some brand new stuff that we haven’t talked about yet, and we’re pulling out some old stuff from years past. There’s going to be some great surprises that you’re all going to love.

Please come on time Sunday and ready to work. We should have our third Christmas song ready to rehearse, and we’ll listen and talk through the new set!
